Eagles wide receiver A.J. Brown had six catches for 96 yards and a score against the Chiefs in Super Bowl LVII, and he was up to his old tricks in Super Bowl LIX.
On 2nd-and-8 from the 12-yard line, Brown snagged a Jalen Hurts pass and ran into the end zone, extending the Eagles’ lead in the waning moments of the first half.
Brown had a down year, at least by his standards, in 2024. After missing multiple games with hamstring and knee injuries, Philadelphia’s No. 1 receiver finished the regular season with 1,079 yards, his lowest since coming to the Eagles in a 2022 trade with the Titans.
He also got off to a slow start in this year’s playoffs. Brown had one catch for three yards against the Packers in the NFC wild-card game and two catches for 14 yards against the Rams in the divisional round.
Fortunately for the Eagles, he had six catches for 96 yards and a touchdown against the Commanders in the NFC Championship Game.
With Brown’s score, Philadelphia took a 24-0 halftime lead into the locker room. The team led Kansas City at the half of Super Bowl LVII as well, but only by three points in a game that had a much different feel for Eagles fans.
