Los Angeles Rams fans spent most of the last decade watching an all-time great defensive player Aaron Donald terrorize opposing offenses. Donald retired at the end of the 2023-24 season, likely leading to a sigh of relief from many NFC teams.
Enter: AP Defensive Rookie of the Year Jared Verse.
Verse became the first Ram to win the award (and the first Rams defensive rookie) since Donald in 2014, recording 66 total tackles with 18 quarterback hits and 4.5 sacks, while forcing two fumbles and defending two passes. In two playoff games he added another two sacks as well as a 57-yard scoop-and-score against the Minnesota Vikings. With that being said, can you name every AP Defensive Rookie of the Year since 2000?
Good luck!
