Sorry, Cowboys fans, running back Ashton Jeanty and wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan were long gone by the time Dallas got on the board in the 2025 NFL Draft. But Tyler Booker is still one hell of a player.
Rated by Pro Football Focus as the best guard in the draft, Booker excelled at left guard for Alabama allowing just two sacks (both as a sophomore) on 1,035 pass-blocking snaps. At 6-foot-5 and 325 pounds, Booker is an inch taller and 10 pounds heavier than former Cowboy and future Hall of Fame guard Zack Martin who retired in the offseason.
Former undrafted free agent Brock Hoffman played well in seven starts at right guard after Martin went down with an ankle injury last season, but no one expected him to win the job in 2025.
Booker is no Martin, but he was a two-year captain at Alabama, splitting time between left and right guard as a freshman before being used exclusively at right guard in 2023. He took 77 snaps at left tackle last season, a position currently held by Tyler Guyton, the team’s first-round pick in 2024.
