Mel Kiper Jr. was heated that Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders fell all the way to the fifth round of the 2025 NFL Draft.

He was so upset during the live coverage that he went on a rant of epic proportions when Sanders was finally selected by the Cleveland Browns at No. 144 overall.

“I don’t know what we’re talking about here. Is it personality issues?” Kiper Jr. shouted in disgust.

The long-time NFL Draft analyst seemingly was taking offense that the NFL as a whole didn’t agree with his draft board, which had Sanders ranked higher than Miami’s Cam Ward, who went No. 1 overall to the Tennessee Titans.

Davis, also an ESPN veteran and once of the voices of college football coverage, urged Kiper to stand down in the moment.

“It’s not putting a value judgement on whether those who passed were right or wrong, they did, so now, whether you like them or you don’t like them, whether they’re fair or whether they’re unfair, you might have to deal with them,” Davis said (h/t Yahoo Sports). “And now Shedeur Sanders has to deal with it. … Now he has an opportunity to answer [his critics]. I think yelling at the NFL about it is not productive.”
