The 2025 NFL regular-season schedule has been released, and Philadelphia faces a tough road ahead as defending Super Bowl champions.

Last year, the Eagles shared the league’s 21st-toughest schedule with the Colts. This year, they’ll face a total of 10 playoff teams as part of the league’s fourth-toughest schedule, per NFL research.

Here’s what stands out about the schedule.

Circle the date | Sept. 14 at Kansas City Chiefs (Week 2)

Philadelphia avenged a 38-35 loss to Kansas City in Super Bowl LVII with a 40-22 win over the Chiefs in last year’s Super Bowl. Had they lost, Kansas City would have become the first NFL team to win three straight Super Bowls and the first team to win three consecutive NFL championships since the Green Bay Packers from 1965-67.

It’s a bit surprising that a rematch of last year’s Super Bowl teams is so early in the season, and more surprising that the game won’t have a prime-time audience. Regardless, expect the Chiefs to have a chip on their shoulder when they welcome the Eagles to Arrowhead Stadium.
