Paul Schwartz of the New York Post recently reported that New York Giants head coach Brian Daboll and general manager Joe Schoen are not necessarily a package deal regarding their employment beyond the 2025 season.

It appears the Giants may have already decided to show at least one of those men the door.

Giants were ready to fire Brian Daboll in October?

On Thursday afternoon, Shaun Morash of New York sports radio station WFAN revealed that the Giants were ready to fire Daboll after the club’s collapse during its 33-32 loss at the Denver Broncos that dropped New York to 2-5 on Oct. 19.

“He was fired off the plane in Denver, and cooler heads prevailed,” Morash explained on Thursday’s edition of the “Evan & Tiki” program. “…Daboll is as good as gone, and basically was two weeks ago.”

The Giants shockingly surrendered 33 fourth-quarter points against Denver, and Big Blue has since fallen to 2-7. Following this past Sunday’s 34-24 home loss to the San Francisco 49ers, a reporter asked Daboll if the coach had been crying before he met with media members.
