Now that most of the NFL’s Week 12 schedule is in the books, it is time to take a look at some of the biggest winners and losers of the week. It was a huge day for the Kansas City Chiefs‘ playoff chances, while the Philadelphia Eagles showed they still have some big flaws on offense.
NFL Week 12 winners
Kansas City Chiefs playoff chances. There was perhaps no win more meaningful in Week 12 than the Chiefs’ win over the Indianapolis Colts. They avoided a three-game losing streak, avoided falling under .500 in late November and saw a huge swing in their playoff odds. It was not pretty; they needed a big comeback, but they got the result they desperately needed.
Baltimore Ravens playoff chances: Speaking of not looking pretty, the Ravens have not been overly impressive the past three weeks, but they keep winning, are back to 6-5 and now have the top spot (by tiebreaker) in the AFC North thanks to their win over the New York Jets and the Pittsburgh Steelers‘ loss to the Chicago Bears.
Jahmyr Gibbs, running back, Detroit Lions: The Lions overcame a 10-point fourth-quarter deficit to get a 34-27 overtime win against the New York Giants. Gibbs was the star of the game with 219 yards rushing, 45 yards receiving and three touchdowns. His third touchdown was a 69-yard run to open overtime.
