Once again, the Pittsburgh Steelers are stuck between a rock and a hard place with Aaron Rodgers.
They still don’t know whether he’ll come back, and they don’t have many options to replace him.
Hiring Mike McCarthy as their head coach showed signs of their desire to keep Rodgers in town, and it looks like it worked.
According to ESPN insider Brooke Pryor, the former MVP is leaning toward returning to Pittsburgh for at least another season.

“I get the sense that he is more likely to come back than not but I would write that in pencil. I would not write that in pen. At the very least, erasable pen because you’re not going to believe it until you hear it from Aaron Rodgers,” Pryor said on SportsCenter.
The Steelers also have second-year QB Will Howard and Mason Rudolph on the roster. They could be in play for Alabama’s Ty Simpson in the 2026 NFL Draft.
Regardless, if they don’t want to embrace a full-scale rebuild, Rodgers will probably be their best choice.
Rodgers and McCarthy won a Super Bowl together in Green Bay, and while a lot has happened since, the former MVP still has something left in the tank.
According to Football Reference, Rodgers completed 65.7 percent of his passes for 3,322 yards, 24 touchdowns and seven interceptions. Those numbers might not be impressive coming from him, but his down years are usually career years for most quarterbacks.
