The LSU Tigers didn’t just go out and pay a fortune to steal Lane Kiffin from Ole Miss and then empty the bank on the transfer portal to “take a step forward” from last year’s frustrating 7-6 season that saw Brian Kelly fired.
They want to win and win big right away.
Kiffin has been a portal whisperer during his time in Oxford, finding the right formula with the new pieces he brought in year after year. Now, he’s going to have to do the same thing on the Bayou.
Make no mistake, though: This Bayou Bengals roster now is as talented as any in the nation.
Portal additions like quarterback Sam Leavitt, offensive tackle Jordan Seaton, safeties Ty Benefield and Faheem Delane, edge Princewill Umanmielen, receivers Winston Watkins, Tre Brown III, and Eugene “Trey” Wilson III, as well as edge-rusher Jordan Ross, are just incredible additions.
When you put them with the key pieces the Tigers kept around and a loaded recruiting class, there are puzzle pieces scattered about. If Kiffin puts them together quickly, it could spell a title.
