The hot-seat watch is on for Carlos Mendoza after a 9-19 start to the season for the New York Mets.

But Mendoza said after a 3-0 loss to the Colorado Rockies that he plans to focus on doing his job well rather than wondering if he’s going to lose it.

“The only thing I’m worried about is getting the guys going,” Mendoza said. “I get it, it sucks. And I know the questions will continue to come up, but my job is to find a way to get those guys out of a funk. That’s the bottom line.”

After the game, the Mets designated outfielder Tommy Pham—who went 0-for-13 with the team—for assignment.
