In the end, Tim Tszyu proved to be too much for the 2026 version of Errol Spence Jr.

Spence, one of the greatest welterweights of a generation, returned from a three-year hiatus on Sunday morning, in his opponent’s hometown of Sydney, Australia. The 36-year-old, who had not fought since a 2023 loss to Terence Crawford, definitely had his moments in their middleweight fight, but was out-landed by his younger opponent over 12 rounds, en route to a clear unanimous decision loss.

For the Aussie legend Tszyu, it was a career-changing fight that will keep his dreams of competing for a world title alive. For Spence, it was the end of the road. In an unsurprisingly development, the decorated former champion announced his retirement in the ring after the loss, laying out plans to focus on his family from here on out. This surely isn’t quite how he wanted to end his career, but it was a valiant effort under the circumstances, and his legacy is already set in stone.

Scroll on for a complete recap of this weekend’s Tszyu vs. Spence showdown, as well as the full results of an entertaining undercard.
