A fight broke out near the end of a 2-2 draw between the Philadelphia Union and Inter Miami on Wednesday night.

Philadelphia’s Cavan Sullivan and Miami’s Yannick Bright both received red cards for a scuffle that started after Sullivan’s brother, Quinn, was taken down inside the box.

Cavan is 16 years old, previously making MLS history as the youngest player to ever appear in a game as a 14-year-old during the 2024 season.

Now, the red card will force him to miss Philadelphia’s clash with Austin FC on Saturday.

Bright also won’t be available to suit up for Miami’s Saturday matchup with Toronto FC.

Cavan’s upcoming absence is a particularly tough blow to a Union squad that has relied on him as a consistent starter under interim manager Ryan Richter.

In 18 matches this year, Sullivan has picked up one goal and seven assists. He’s been particularly sharp as of late, recording three assists in his past three appearances heading into Wednesday’s action.

As for Bright, he’s tallied three assists in 16 matches during his 2026 campaign.
