If Baltimore Ravens fans weren’t ready for the 2026 season yet, they will be after hearing what Lamar Jackson had to say about the team’s new offense.
“I don’t believe a defense is prepared for what’s in store for them,” he said during an interview with Adam Schein of SiriusXM.
He also said “it’s making everyone’s job a lot easier, and I just can’t wait to showcase it.”
Baltimore’s coaching staff will look different after 18 years of John Harbaugh. It hired Jesse Minter as his replacement and then tabbed Declan Doyle as the offensive coordinator, which was an important hire since the new head coach has a defensive background.
Doyle is just 30 years old, but he impressed last season as the offensive coordinator for a Chicago Bears team that won the NFC North and reached the Divisional Round of the playoffs.
Chicago was last in the league in offensive yards in 2024 and jumped up to sixth in Doyle’s first and only year with the team.
While Caleb Williams made a second-year leap while working with Doyle, Jackson is already a well-established star with two MVPs, three First-Team All-Pro selections and four Pro Bowl nods on his resume.
There isn’t much else left he has to prove, although he is still chasing an elusive Super Bowl title.
With Derrick Henry, Mark Andrews, Zay Flowers and others surrounding him in the offense, perhaps this will be the season he breaks through and lifts the Lombardi Trophy. If the offense is as dangerous as Jackson made it sound during his latest comments, that is not an unrealistic scenario.
Opposing defenses have been warned.
