The Baltimore Ravens will be without one of their wide receivers for a few weeks after an injury in Week 1.
According to Matt Zenitz of CBS Sports, Lane is expected to undergo surgery on his wrist injury and the “current hope” is for him to be able to return in about one month.
NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo reported Sunday that the rookie suffered a fractured wrist in Baltimore’s win over the Indianapolis Colts.
Lane, who was making his NFL debut on Sunday, came down hard on his left wrist in the end zone while trying to catch a pass from Lamar Jackson in the second quarter. He finished the game with one reception for 11 yards.
Lane was a standout at USC, recording 1,363 yards and 18 touchdowns during his time with the Trojans. The Ravens drafted him in the third round of the 2026 NFL Draft.
Unfortunately for Baltimore, Lane wasn’t the only receiver injured against the Colts.
Zay Flowers exited in the second quarter after suffering a hamstring injury and will undergo an MRI on Monday to determine his Week 2 status. He was putting together a tremendous game before the injury, collecting 150 yards and a touchdown in less than two quarters.
With Lane set to miss time and Flowers potentially having to miss time as well, fantasy managers might want to look to Rashod Bateman on the waiver wire. Bateman had just one target on Sunday, but that’s sure to change in Week 2 if Jackson is without two key receivers.
Tight end Mark Andrews could also see an increase in production in Week 2 after picking up four receptions for 49 yards on Sunday.
The Ravens had a strong start to the Jesse Minter era after picking up the win, but they’ll face a New Orleans Saints team that took the Detroit Lions to overtime on Sunday next week.
That should be a manageable game, but it will be tougher if Lane and Flowers aren’t on the field.
