Philadelphia Eagles seventh-year quarterback Jalen Hurts owes second-year wide receiver Darius Cooper a nice dinner.
During the Eagles’ home game against the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday, Hurts nearly threw an interception on a 2nd-and-11 in the red zone. Cooper, however, saved him.
Darius Cooper makes absurd TD catch
As Rams safety Quentin Lake extended his arms, Cooper came from behind and snatched the ball away from him to secure an 18-yard TD catch, giving the Eagles a 12-3 lead. Philadelphia kicker Jake Elliott then made the extra point, increasing the lead to 13-3.
“New meaning to a pick-six,” wrote ESPN NFL insider Jeremy Fowler while reacting to the play.
Indeed.
