In a similar scene to last year, the Texans will watch Smith sit on injured reserve with only four games played this season. According to Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2, the hope is that, this time, Smith won’t be missing for the rest of the season. The team’s third-round pick out of USC last year, Smith was diagnosed with a Grade 2 hamstring injury, which means a recovery measured in weeks, not months. So, while he lands on IR for the second year in a row, there appears to be an expectation that he’ll make a return at some point in his sophomore campaign.
