San Francisco 49ers fans’ long nightmare is finally over. The team announced Saturday that star running back Christian McCaffrey has been activated from injured reserve and will play Sunday against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
McCaffrey missed all eight of San Francisco’s games so far this season with tendinitis in both his Achilles.
The team sits at 4-4 and is third in the NFC West, a far cry from the position it was comfortably in with McCaffrey in the lineup the last few seasons.
