Alabama is on its way to the Sweet 16 after a dominant 90-65 win over Texas Tech on Sunday.
The No. 4 Crimson Tide trounced the No. 5 Red Raiders, looking more like a No. 1 seed than its actual seed.
Alabama hit 19 three-pointers on an extremely efficient 45 percent from deep. That kind of performance would’ve led to a win against nearly any team, especially a Texas Tech team that made just 16 percent of its threes.
With star sophomore Labaron Philon Jr. having a bit of an off night, senior guard Latrell Wrightsell led the way for the Crimson Tide, posting a game-high 24 points. While Philon didn’t impact the game with his scoring, putting up just nine points, he made plays all night and recorded 11 assists.
Now, Alabama is on its way to a meeting with top-seeded Michigan, a game fans believe the Crimson Tide have a real chance to win.
As good as Alabama looked on Sunday, it will be a completely different challenge going up against Michigan. The Wolverines thrive on the defensive end, posting the No. 2 defensive rating in the nation, per KenPom.com.
If the Crimson Tide can shoot the way it did on Sunday against Michigan, they should make things interesting. If not, fans could be in for a blowout.
