The Washington Commanders were one of the biggest surprises in the NFL last season with rookie QB Jayden Daniels leading the franchise to the NFC Championship game.
The Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles proved to be too much in a 55-23 win, but the season was still a success for a franchise that had not won a playoff game since 2005.
Another key contributor to Washington’s success was WR Terry McLaurin, who led the team in receiving yards (1,096) and TDs (13). Despite the success that McLaurin has had, he has not agreed to a new deal with the Commanders and recently requested a trade.
ESPN NFL analyst Dan Orlovsky was on Monday’s edition of “First Take” and blasted the organization for the way it has handled the entire situation.
“This is one of the dumbest things that has been a part of the NFL this offseason. It’s one of the most maddening situations that I have been watching this NFL offseason,” Orlovsky said. “…Respectfully Washington, you were a dumpster fire for years. You were a laughing stock. The only thing good about your organization was (Terry McLaurin).”
