Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels took the NFL by storm as a rookie.

The 2024 second overall pick entered the league with high expectations, but nobody could have predicted how quickly he would become one of the best players in football.

Daniels took a Commanders team in disarray and instantly turned things around, leading them to a 12-5 regular-season record, followed by two upset playoff wins over the Buccaneers and top-seeded Lions.

He deservedly took home the honor of Offensive Rookie of the Year in a landslide, and now, heading into Year 2, many believe Daniels is coming for even bigger awards.

On Wednesday, ESPN analyst Louis Riddick was asked if it’s wild to say that Daniels could win league MVP in 2025-26, and he was clear on his answer.

“No, I would tell you that that could very, very well happen. There’s a good shot that that may happen. This guy is unique. Now, we talk about unicorns all the time. This guy is a unicorn in terms of his football character, how mature he is. I watched him the other day have a media session, and I’m sitting there going, Has this guy played in the league for four or five years? He’s the unquestioned leader; he’s one of the best leaders probably this football team has had in what, two decades? I mean, he is without a doubt the head of the snake there, and I don’t see him taking a step back at all,” Riddick said.
