San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan revealed that quarterback Brock Purdy was a limited participant in practice on Wednesday while recovering from a toe injury, per Matt Barrows of The Athletic.

Purdy suffered the injury in Week 1 and missed San Francisco’s 26-21 win over the New Orleans Saints in Week 2.

A potential return against the Arizona Cardinals in Week 3 would be an encouraging development for Purdy, as he was reportedly expected to miss between two and five weeks with the toe issue.
