The New York Giants won’t have their rookie star QB on the field on Sunday.

Jaxson Dart left the loss to the Chicago Bears in Week 10 with a concussion, and Jameis Winston will take the reins of the team. This was the fourth time Dart was evaluated for a concussion this season. The QB took way too many hits, and former HC Brian Daboll failed to protect him from himself. With that in mind, former NFL MVP Cam Newton offered Dart a little nugget of wisdom.

Cam Newton urges Jaxson Dart to slide

The Carolina Panthers legend, who also had his fair share of injuries because of his recklessness, urged Dart to pick his spots a little better.

“I injured myself out of the pocket more so than in the pocket,” Newton said on his “4th&1 with Cam Newton” podcast. “As a runner, I never took too many hits… I was always the hammer, never the nail. I inflicted the pain, never was inserted with pain. Maybe once, maybe twice, but I played this game for a long time. What I would challenge Jaxson Dart to do is this: Find the weak spots of any defender approaching you. You don’t always have to run and deliver the blow. As a tackler is approaching you, learn how to slide.”
