A rumor about a potential Dak Prescott trade to the Cleveland Browns received attention on Wednesday.
Veteran Cleveland media personality Bruce Drennan said on his “Big Play” show that the Browns were negotiating a trade for Prescott. Drennan even said that Myles Garrett was willing to sign his contract extension with Cleveland in part because of the possibility that the team could trade for Prescott.
“I got a pretty darn good source within the Browns’ organization. I heard since our last show that part of the reason Myles Garrett was so willing to sign this extension for a contract … the Browns are negotiating as we speak with the Dallas Cowboys for a trade for Dak Prescott,” Drennan said.
Drennan said people could take his report for what it was worth. He told them to remember where they heard it from first in case it came true.
The rumor generated enough buzz that NFL Network Cowboys reporter Jane Slater decided to look into it. She said two Cowboys sources dismissed the rumor. You can see her X post along with Drennan’s original report here:
