Davante Adams has had a tremendous career and will retire as one of the best receivers of his generation, but he’s still chasing his first Super Bowl ring.
His dreams of winning a Super Bowl will have to wait at least another year after the Los Angeles Rams lost to the Seattle Seahawks in the NFC championship on Sunday.
“Heartbreak,” Adams said when asked what he was feeling after the loss. “It’s tough to talk.”
This season was the closest Adams had been to making the Super Bowl since 2020, but it wasn’t in the cards as the Rams fell four points short.
Adams is under contract for another season, and the Rams should bring back a talented roster, but the star receiver couldn’t think about next season after a crushing loss.
“It’s tough to focus on that right now,” Adams told reporters. “It’s a tough moment that we’re in right now, so I’ll process the emotions of this and then worry about that. Obviously, I love this team, I love what this team is about and the fight that we had all year. It just sucks to come up short.”
While it was a devastating end to the season, it should serve as fuel for Adams and the rest of the Rams heading into the offseason.
