The New England Patriots have been rumored to be a landing spot for Philadelphia Eagles star receiver A.J. Brown if he’s traded this offseason, and he hinted that a move to the Northeast could be coming soon.
During an appearance on the Dudes on Dudes podcast (38:20 mark) alongside Patriots legends Rob Gronkowski and Julian Edelman, Brown winked when Edelman declared, “We’re all Patriots.”
The room erupted with laughter, and Brown ultimately made it clear that he was “trolling.” But there could be some truth behind Brown’s subtle response.
Brown was visibly unhappy throughout the 2025 season, and The Athletic’s Dianna Russini reported earlier this month that his relationship with the Eagles remains “tenuous.” ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler later reported the expectation around the league is that Philadelphia will at least “entertain” trade offers for the three-time Pro Bowler and could start holding discussions during the NFL scouting combine.
The Patriots are coming off a surprising run to Super Bowl LX in their first year under head coach Mike Vrabel. Despite losing to the Seattle Seahawks, there’s optimism that New England is returning to its glory days.
Adding a talent like Brown would certainly solidify the Patriots as a perennial title contender, and it appears that the 28-year-old would welcome the opportunity to play in New England.
