If you started Atlanta Falcons tight end Kyle Pitts on your fantasy team this week then you saw a big fat zero next to his name at the end of the game. He was targeted only three times and didn’t catch the ball a single time on Sunday.

Despite that, Atlanta still beat division foe New Orleans 26-24, needing a 58-yard game-winning field goal from kicker Younghoe Koo — the longest ever made at Mercedes Benz Stadium.

Atlanta’s offense never found the end zone Sunday, so it wasn’t just Pitts who lacked in fantasy points. The Falcons defense stepped up and provided a pick-six and a muffed punt recovered for a touchdown for over half the team’s points production. Koo provided the other 12 points on his leg.

After the game, head coach Raheem Morris was asked about Pitts’ lack of involvement in the game. His answer isn’t promising if you’re looking to rely on his fantasy production going forward.

“It was just about going out there and winning the game,” Morris said in his postgame news conference. “Stats are for losers, man. I don’t get involved in that stuff.”

Through four weeks, Pitts has tallied eight receptions for 105 yards and one touchdown. At the same mark last year, he logged 198 yards and one score from twice as many catches.

Two different seasons with two very different head coaches, and Pitts still has not lived up to his No. 4 overall pick hype from the 2021 NFL Draft.

Is it the offensive play calling? Is he just not playing well? Is it his chemistry with new quarterback Kirk Cousins?

All valid questions, but based on Morris’ answer, it sounds like getting high production out of Pitts is going to be determined by game situations week-to-week.
