Twelve games into the 2025 season, the Pittsburgh Steelers are 6-6 and in a heated battle with the Baltimore Ravens for the AFC North title. With a strong finish, they can win the division and host a playoff game.

Yet Steelers fans are unimpressed. Some are demanding the ouster of head coach Mike Tomlin and could be heard chanting “Fire Tomlin!” at a recent Steelers game.

Mike Tomlin has an impressive coaching record

But why? Tomlin is one of the most successful coaches in NFL history. His .625 regular-season winning percentage ranks sixth among active coaches, and he holds the distinction of never having a losing season.

In this era of NFL football, which champions parity and free agency, that is truly remarkable. He is very likely a Hall of Famer, as his regular-season record is comparable to those of legendary HOF Steelers coaches Chuck Noll and Bill Cowher.
