The Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs will battle it out in New Orleans on Sunday for the right to lift the coveted Lombardi Trophy, and Super Bowl LIX is going to be historic no matter which team wins.

Many have heard the constant mention of the possibility for a never-before-seen three-peat if the Chiefs are victorious. But with an Eagles win, an equally impressive streak will come to an end.

Over the past 34 years, 17 quarterbacks have played in and lost their first Super Bowl appearance. None made it back to the big game since Buffalo Bills legend and Pro Football Hall of Famer Jim Kelly in 1990-91.

Eagles passer Jalen Hurts lost Super Bowl LVII following the 2022 season, but now he’s the first since Kelly to make it back.
