“Main Event” was a moniker Jey Uso held for a long time with aspirations for greatness, but he has finally truly earned that moniker.
Jey is going to the main event of WrestleMania 41, and it is a genuine shock. Just days removed from a heart-breaking loss to Gunther, it was hard to see the immediate path forward for Jey.
If he faces Gunther again, the two men will need to step up in a big way to sell their match as worthy of The Grandest Stage of Them All.
If he faces Cody Rhodes, it will be a fresh opportunity, but much will need to be done before WrestleMania to sell Jey on The American Nightmare’s level.
The ultimate test is coming for Jey, who will have to live with the questions of whether he deserved this spot over Roman Reigns, CM Punk, John Cena, Seth “Freakin” Rollins and more.
