Looking for an underdog to root for in Super Bowl LIX? Look no further than the Eagles’ Jalyx Hunt, a little-known player but a much-needed contributor to the team’s top-ranked defense.

Few expected Philadelphia’s third-round pick to see many snaps in his rookie season. Not only did Hunt come from Houston Christian University, a small school with an enrollment of 4,276 students, but he was also relatively new to the defensive end position.

He started his college career at Cornell, where he played in seven games as a reserve safety in 2019 before losing the entire 2020 season to the COVID-19 pandemic. He made just one start at safety in 2021 before putting on 50 pounds to switch positions for Houston Christian in 2022.
