Meanwhile, Wilson missed his first six games in Pittsburgh with a calf issue before going 6-6 as a starter, including a 28-14 loss to the Ravens in the postseason. The 36-year-old signed a one-year, $10.5M contract to join the Giants in the offseason after throwing for 2,482 yards and 16 touchdowns in 11 regular season starts as a Steeler.
Giants fans hope to see Dart sooner rather than later, but if Wilson plays well in the team’s first four games against the Commanders, Cowboys, Chiefs and Rams, there would be no reason to start Dart.
Will LB Abdul Carter be named Defensive Rookie of the Year?
Magic 8 Ball says: Outlook not so good.
That’s certainly not what the third overall pick in the draft wants to hear. While ESPN BET currently gives him the best odds to win the award (+250), ESPN’s Ben Solak ranks him third behind 49ers DE Mykel Williams and Falcons LB Jalon Walker.
Solak believes Carter could see fewer snaps than most top picks since he’s joining a team with established starters on defense like Brian Burns and Kayvon Thibodeaux. Still, it’s hard to imagine the Giants putting the 6-foot-3, 252-pound edge-rusher on a pitch count.
The first-team All-American and Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year had 68 tackles, two forced fumbles, four passes defended and a team-high 12 sacks for the Nittany Lions last season. He also led the FBS with 23.5 tackles-for-loss.
Will the Giants have a winning record in 2025?
Magic 8 Ball says: Outlook not so good.
It seems the Magic 8 Ball has nothing nice to say about the Giants year. A 3-14 record will do that. At first, we considered asking about the team’s playoff chances but with only two winning seasons over the past 12 years, we set the bar a little lower. The Giants went 9-7-1 and made the playoffs under new head coach Brian Daboll in 2022 but have gone 9-25 since then.
Team owner John Mara said he has “just about run out of patience” with the coach in a postseason news conference, and without a winning record, Daboll and general manager Joe Schoen won’t need a Magic 8 Ball to predict their fate in 2026.
