12. Los Angeles Rams (3-4)
14. New York Giants (2-5)
Detroit is the clear team to beat in the NFC.
However, the Lions could be taken off that pedestal as early as Week 9, when they face the Green Bay Packers.
Green Bay is also a half-game back of the Lions in the NFC North, where all four teams are within two games of each other.
The Minnesota Vikings and Chicago Bears will also have a say in the divisional title race, and there is a chance all four NFC North teams make the playoffs.
Only two NFC East teams, the Washington Commanders and Philadelphia Eagles, look like playoff teams and there’s a good chance the Tampa Bay Buccaneers drop off with all of their injuries.
The NFC West still has to sort itself out, but the assumption is the San Francisco 49ers eventually take control after their Week 9 bye.
The 49ers have a tough second half of the regular season, but they should start with two wins over Tampa Bay and Seattle to create some momentum going into the Week 12 clash in Green Bay with the Packers.
