Haason Reddick has continued to hold out while he tries to force a trade from the New York Jets, but the star pass-rusher almost certainly will not be rejoining his former team.

Jets reporter Rich Cimini made the surprising revelation last week that Reddick would not be opposed to a trade that sent him back to the Philadelphia Eagles. However, Ian Rapoport of NFL Media noted on Monday that the Jets and Eagles would not be able to swing a deal like that even if both teams were interested.

NFL rules prohibit teams from re-acquiring a player via trade until two seasons have elapsed since the original deal.
