Denver Broncos AFC West hopes: The Broncos win over the Kansas City Chiefs, combined with the Los Angeles Chargers loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars, has put them in the driver’s seat for their first AFC West title since the 2015 season.
Brock Purdy, quarterback, San Francisco 49ers: There was some debate as to whether or not the 49ers should go back to Purdy given the way Mac Jones played in his absence, but Purdy showed on Sunday why he is their big-money quarterback with a three-touchdown performance against the Arizona Cardinals.
NFL Week 11 Losers
J.J. McCarthy, quarterback, Minnesota Vikings: McCarthy is having some growing pains in his first taste of NFL action, and with two more costly interceptions (and bad accuracy) on Sunday he is the big obvious weakness in the Vikings offense.
Ja’Marr Chase, wide receiver, Cincinnati Bengals: Chase had one of his worst games of the season, catching just three passes for 30 yards on 10 targets. He also may have gotten himself suspended for next week’s game by apparently spitting on Steelers safety Jalen Ramsey.
Kansas City Chiefs’ playoff hopes: We have not been able to say this much over the past 10 years, but the Chiefs might be in trouble. With their loss on Sunday they are 5-5, on the outside of the playoff picture, and have lost head-to-head games with every team currently in a wild-card position.
Shedeur Sanders, quarterback, Cleveland Browns: Sanders saw his first taste of NFL action due to a Dillon Gabriel injury, and it went, in a word, poorly. He completed just 4-of-16 passes for 47 yards, zero touchdowns, an interception, was sacked three times and just generally looked overmatched.
New York Giants: Another week, another fourth quarter lead lost and another game lost. This lead was only one point, but they still found a new way to give another game away. New coach. Same result.
Sam Darnold, quarterback, Seattle Seahawks: Darnold has played like an MVP candidate this season, but that version of him did not show up on Sunday. He did not throw a touchdown and was intercepted four times in a close loss to the Los Angeles Rams.
