Despite watching their team complete a successful season overall, Chicago Bears fans are left wondering “what if?” on Monday following their team’s 20-17 loss in overtime on Sunday.
Chicago fell to the Los Angeles Rams in the NFC’s divisional round, even though it was at home in snowy conditions and had a chance to win late in regulation. And while an 11-6 regular season and a historic comeback playoff victory over the rival Green Bay Packers make the 2025 season one to remember and build off of, a former NFL head coach-turned-ESPN analyst can’t get over the “what if?” aspect of the end of the game on Sunday.
“That’s why you go for two,” said a puzzled Ryan during a discussion about the game on ESPN’s “Get Up” show on Monday morning.
Rex Ryan doesn’t even think it’s a question about what Bears should’ve done
When asked if he would’ve gone for two in that situation, the former Jets and Bills coach responded with a quick “100%!” before expanding further on his reasoning.
“Are you going to get more momentum than you did by converting a 1 and a million chance play a quarterback? Even if you don’t make it, every single Bears fan is like ‘that’s who the hell we are,'” explained Ryan.
