The Seattle Seahawks didn’t need the final preseason against the Green Bay Packers to decide who the starters and key players on their team would be. The game was required to judge and evaluate certain players who needed more development. Among those players was third-round rookie quarterback Jalen Milroe, who several fans and former players wouldn’t mind seeing start in Week 1.
Despite a few good drives through the first two preseason games and a few good practices, it is clear that after a rough third preseason game, Milroe isn’t ready after givi
ng him the responsibility to lead the team on Saturday.
There were definitely signs that Milroe was overwhelmed physically and mentally against the Packers. He went 13-of-24 for 148 yards and a touchdown. There were some good moments in the passing game where he put the ball in his receiver’s hands or guided them to a great catch, but he was sacked five times while playing with the reserve offensive line.
