For the second time in three years, the Philadelphia Eagles and the Kansas City Chiefs will clash for the ultimate prize in professional football, the Lombardi Trophy, when they take to the field at Super Bowl LIX.

In their first meeting, the Chiefs overcame one of the greatest individual performances in Super Bowl history from Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts to emerge victoriously by three points. This Eagles team is different, though.

Philadelphia does not need Hurts to run point and be everything for the offense. He has backup in the form of league MVP candidate Saquon Barkley, a rare running back who is the most explosive player on the field, capable of putting a dagger in the opponent in the form of a 60-yard touchdown gallop every time he takes a handoff.

Hurts also arrives with the No. 1 defense in the league, a unit that has consistently smothered opposing offenses through the air and on the ground all year long.

This opponent, though, is unlike any the Eagles have faced this season.

The Chiefs have been there, done that, and are seeking history.

A win earns them the first three-peat in NFL history as the only team to emerge victoriously in three consecutive Super Bowls.

Patrick Mahomes is the best big-game quarterback in the league, tight end Travis Kelce has a knack for turning it on under the brightest lights, and the defense is made of veteran players like Chris Davis, Nick Bolton, and George Karlaftis, who have been in this situation before.

What should be a close match-up between two teams who know each other, whose coaches have stood across the sidelines from each other on this stage before, it will be a deserving finale to a season in which they were the best in their respective conferences.

Expect a close one, with a field goal likely the difference between the winner and loser, a chance to enter the history books for the team lucky enough to get that last kick.
