After trading Geno Smith to the Las Vegas Raiders, the Seattle Seahawks have found their new QB1 by signing Sam Darnold to a three-year, $100.5 million contract.
Darnold had a career year in Minnesota after 2024 first round draft pick J.J. McCarthy went down with a knee injury in the preseason, throwing for 4,319 yards and 35 touchdowns and leading the Vikings to 14 wins. But he folded a bit in the two most important games of the season, losing the regular season finale to Detroit with the No. 1 seed and NFC North title on the line before losing to the Rams in the Wild Card.
