The Indianapolis Colts were facing what was pretty much a must-win game in Denver on Sunday, and they did not do themselves any favors.
After running back Jonathan Taylor gave away a potential touchdown by dropping the ball short of the goal line early in the third quarter, the Colts tried to dial up a trick play that could not have gone worse.
It involved Adonai Mitchell getting a backwards pass and then trying to throw it back across the field on a double-pass play.
Instead of finding a teammate, it found Broncos linebacker Nik Bonitto, who returned it for a Broncos touchdown to extend their lead.
