Just when it seemed the Los Angeles Rams were about to gain momentum in Sunday’s divisional-round matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles, it slipped through their fingers.
After sacking Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts for a safety, the Rams cut the lead to 16-15 before the start of the fourth quarter.
However, they failed to capitalize on the ensuing drive. On 2nd-and-10-10 at L.A.’s 43-yard line, Rams running back Kyren Williams lost a fumble, which Eagles cornerback Isaiah Rodgers recovered and returned for 40 yards. Eagles defensive tackle Jalen Carter punched the ball, causing Williams to drop it.
After the play, Rodgers and his teammates made snow angels in the end zone.
