Howie Roseman has developed a reputation around the NFL and is now getting the Billy Beane treatment from his colleagues.

Roseman, 49, is in his second stint as the Eagles general manager. Since he reassumed the role in 2019, the Eagles have made five playoff appearances and reached the Super Bowl twice. They have won two Super Bowls since 2017, and Roseman’s role in building the roster is a big reason why.

Opposing GMs know how shrewd Roseman is. Much like what happened with A’s executive Beane, those GMs are leery of doing business with Roseman.

In an appearance on “Kincade & Salciunas” on 97.5 The Fanatic in Philadelphia, ESPN reporter Adam Schefter said that one GM joked to him he would avoid phone calls from the Eagles around the time of the draft.

“Last week, you asked if there are teams scared of doing business with the Eagles and Howie Roseman, and I said, no, they’re going to call, they won’t shy away from it. But I will say this, they are mindful of his track record because I did have one GM say to me this week, and this guy was talking about moving up, moving back, and Philly came up, and the guy jokes to me, Yeah, we’re blocking all calls from the 215 area code into our facility,’” Schefter said on the show.
