CeeDee Lamb and the Dallas Cowboys agreed to a restructured contract on Tuesday, and the star wide receiver later sent a clear message about why he was open to reworking his deal.

Lamb has signed a new contract with the Cowboys that will save the team $20M against the salary cap in 2025, according to a report from ESPN’s Todd Archer. The news surfaced on the same day that Dallas defensive tackle Osa Odighizuwa signed a four-year, $80M extension.

Star players usually do not take a pay cut when agreeing to a restructured deal, and that is almost certainly the case with Lamb. The Cowboys likely moved some guaranteed money forward in order to free up cap space. Still, at least one fan questioned why the four-time Pro Bowl wideout would agree to a new deal.

Lamb had a good response.
