Josh Allen could not contain his emotions Saturday after the Buffalo Bills’ season came to an end.
Allen had two opportunities to lead the Bills to a game-winning drive against the Denver Broncos in their Divisional Round matchup at Empower Field at Mile High in Denver, Colo. But Allen came up short on both chances, allowing the Broncos to hold on for a 33-30 victory in overtime.
The Bills quarterback’s tears were flowing as he came up to the podium for his postgame press conference.
“I let my teammates down tonight,” Allen said once he got to the podium.
“Missed opportunities throughout the game. It’s been a long season. Hate how it ended. It’s going to stick with me for a long time. Can’t win with five turnovers. I fumbled twice, threw two picks. When you shoot yourself in the foot like that, you don’t deserve to win football games.”
