The New York Giants and head coach John Harbaugh are on the hunt for a new offensive coordinator and are targeting some trendy names after Todd Monken took the Cleveland Browns head coaching job.
According to ESPN’s Peter Schrager, the Giants plan to meet with Indianapolis Colts offensive coordinator Jim Bob Cooter, who is also interviewing for the same job with the Philadelphia Eagles.
ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reported they also plan to interview Colts pass-game coordinator Alex Tanney.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter previously reported New York requested to interview Denver Broncos passing game coordinator and quarterbacks coach Davis Webb for the job.
NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero added that Giants wide receivers coach Robert Prince interviewed for the job last week.
Monken was seemingly the frontrunner to serve as Harbaugh’s offensive coordinator all along after their time together in Baltimore, but the Browns swooped in on Wednesday and named the 59-year-old their head coach.
