Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts welcomed back the four astronauts from NASA’s Artemis II mission—commander Reid Wiseman, pilot Victor Glover and mission specialists Christina Koch and Jeremy Hansen—after they successfully splashed down into the Pacific Ocean on Friday.
Hurts gave a shoutout to Koch, a big Eagles and Philadelphia Phillies fan, in particular. Koch is such a big fan that she’s watched Eagles and Phillies games from the International Space Station.
Koch and the rest of the Artemis II crew successfully splashed down at 8:07 p.m. ET after a 10-day journey around the Moon. They have since been successfully transported to the USS John P. Murtha.
The Artemis II crew set the human spaceflight record for the farthest distance traveled in space (252,756 miles) during their 10-day lunar flyby mission, which began on April 1 after launch from the John F. Kennedy Space Center in Florida.
