An upcoming fight between Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua was announced by Netflix on Saturday.
The announcement came after Fury wrapped up a unanimous decision win over Arslanbek Makhmudov in London.
While the exact date of Fury’s clash with Joshua is still unknown, the bout will occur in the fall.
The two fighters traded verbal jabs ringside on Saturday after Fury defeated Makhmudov.
Fury and Joshua have been linked multiple times throughout their respective careers, although the two former heavyweight champions are still waiting to step into the ring together.
Joshua owns a record of 29-4 with 26 knockouts. His latest victory came against Jake Paul in Dec. 2025. Following the win, he immediately called out Fury.
“If Tyson Fury is as serious as he thinks he is, and he wants to put down his Twitter fingers and put on some gloves and come and fight one of the realest fighters out there that will take on any challenge, step in the ring with me next if you’re a real bad boy,” Joshua said at the time (1:04 mark). “Don’t do all that talking, ‘AJ this, AJ that.’ Let’s see you in the ring and talk with your fists.”
Fury announced his retirement in Jan. 2025 before returning to face Makhmudov on Saturday.
He showcased his left jab and footwork in the win, his first fight since falling to Oleksandr Usyk in Dec. 2024.
Fury improved to 35-2-1 with 24 knockouts after the bout.
While Fury and Joshua may no longer be in their prime with both fighters over 36 years old, their eventual clash should still contain plenty of intrigue.
