Mike McCarthy has some big shoes to fill with his hometown Pittsburgh Steelers.
He’ll take the reins from Mike Tomlin, who, despite not having a single losing season with the organization, had struggled to lead the team to postseason success.
Notably, he doesn’t know whether he’ll have a future Hall of Famer — not to mention his most famous player — at quarterback.
Aaron Rodgers is still MIA, and the Steelers took Drew Allar in the third round as a potential project to replace him. However, that doesn’t mean they won’t welcome him back with open arms.
Mike McCarthy is keeping in touch with Aaron Rodgers
Talking on Mad Dog Sports Radio, McCarthy revealed that he’s been in contact with Rodgers, gushing about his presence and what he brings to the team:
“The fit is excellent, you can see that from afar,” McCarthy said, adding how he enjoyed watching him as a fan last season. “Now, being here, you can just see the respect and how the locker room feels about him.”
