A scary scene unfolded in the third quarter of Sunday’s game between the Atlanta Falcons and Chicago Bears.

Falcons linebacker Kendal Daniels suffered an injury on a tackle attempt and remained on the field until he was stabilized and loaded onto a cart on a gurney. Players from both teams surrounded him on the field as trainers were on the scene during the stoppage, which lasted for several minutes.

The injury happened when Daniels’ facemask collided with Colston Loveland’s knee on a tackle attempt.

Michael David Smith of Pro Football Talk noted medical personnel cut his jersey off during the process of immobilizing his neck.

Smith added that the linebacker “appeared to be conscious and moving a hand.”

He was the second linebacker who was wearing the green dot helmet and calling the defensive plays to leave the game for the Falcons. Divine Deablo initially left the contest with an arm injury.

Daniels was a fourth-round pick in this year’s draft after he played collegiately for Oklahoma State and Oklahoma.

The rookie entered Sunday’s game with 22 tackles, two tackles for loss, one sack and one pass defended.
