It didn’t take long for Beanie Bishop Jr. to impress his new team, as he hopes to solidify Chicago as his next NFL home.
The former All-American from his final college season at West Virginia made sure to be in the right place at the right time on Saturday in the Chicago Bears‘ preseason win over the Cleveland Browns.
Beanie Bishop picked off two passes against the Browns
Bishop’s play was highlighted by a pair of interceptions, one off Shedeur Sanders and another off Dillon Gabriel. He also deflected three passes and made a couple of tackles when in the game.
Bishop’s Bears debut came only a week after a tryout earned him a contract and his latest opportunity.
Bishop is hoping he can make the Bears’ main roster after failing to play in a game in 2025
Before joining the Bears, Bishop was released by the New Orleans Saints months after agreeing to a reserve/future contract on Jan. 5. That agreement came after spending most of the 2025 season as a member of the Saints’ practice squad.
