The Cleveland Browns have locked in two key pieces of their defense for the long term.
The Browns are signing safety Grant Delpit to a three-year, $48 million contract including $35 million in guaranteed money, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported Wednesday.
The news comes after Ward reportedly signed a two-year, $62.2 million extension set to make him the highest-paid defensive back in the NFL.
The Browns currently rank 17th in the NFL with about $16 million in cap space heading into the 2026 season, per Over the Cap.
Delpit’s new contract is set to kick in ahead of the 2027 campaign. Over the Cap estimated before Delpit’s signing the Browns ranked 16th with about $11.7 million in projected 2027 cap space.
